Based on the collection of the information about the plastics industry at abroad in interrelated foreign technical periodicals of July，1998～June，1999，the progress in the world plastics industry in 1998～1999 is given in this paper．The output and production increasing rate of general thermoplastic， engineering plastics，general thermoset plastics，special engineering plastics of Japan，USA，Canada，Germany，France，Belgium，Italy，Britain，Spain，Hungary and Malaysia are given．Classified as general thermoplastics and thermoset plastics，general and special engineering plastics，the resin output and component ratio of USA，Japan，Germany，Korea，France，Belgium，Netherland，Italy and other countries，including the countries in Asia，Europe，North America，Central South America，Africa and Ocenica，as well as the resin output of Chinese Taiwan，are also introduced in great detail，especially the synthetic technology，modification of resin grade and new application and development of resin are introduce． |
